LEARN TO WELD ALUMINIUM

If you’re a DIY kind of person, you’ve probably dabbled with stick welding on mild or stainless steel. Some of you may have also used oxy acetylene to heat, cut or weld the same metals. Most welders have at some point wanted to weld aluminium. Those of you that have tried using the above methods have experienced firsthand how ‘impossible’ it is to do. Welding Aluminium differs from welding mild or stainless steel.

The instruction offered caters for the beginner aluminium welder, with more advanced topics and practical work available for more experienced welders. If you have never TIG welded at all, it will be a relatively steep learning curve - but not impossible. We charge R850.00 per hour and suggest giving lessons over multiple visits. This keeps costs down and enables the student to go back and practice the practical aspects learned from the lesson. A minimum of one hour with no maximum time limit is available. By learning this way, we can address difficulties you’ve experienced when practicing at home. The lessons are in Kew, Johannesburg, and we can offer them over weekends and during the week. We will tailor the course according to your current skill level and cover everything you will need to learn to weld aluminium - or improve on your current skill level. Included in the course will be lots of tips and tricks you can use to master the process.

The course will involve some relevant theory, practical demonstrations, and plenty of welding time. We give classes on a one-to-one basis.
